Male Breast Reduction in Minneapolis

Men who have abnormally large breasts (called gynecomastia) are able to have this condition permanently corrected with cosmetic plastic surgery. This condition is quite common and most bothersome to adolescents as well as adult males. These individuals are embarrassed to expose their breasts in front of others in locker rooms, at the beach, etc. Since weight loss will not usually correct this permanent condition, surgical intervention is required.
Removing the excess breast tissue and fat is performed through a one-inch incision placed within the inferior margin of the nipple. The resulting scar is usually inconspicuous. If the enlarged breast is composed primarily of fat, then liposuction alone may be adequate for sufficient breast reduction. This two-hour procedure is performed on an outpatient basis with local anesthesia and intravenous sedation. The surgical risk is minimal when performed by a skilled and experienced cosmetic surgeon. Within a few weeks following
surgery, the chest wall becomes normal in appearance.
Men experience no pain during the procedure and minimal discomfort during the healing period. They are sent home shortly after surgery where they rest for 2 days before returning to work. The dressings are removed in 5 days. No suture removal is required. A chest binder is worn for 2 weeks as the swelling and bruising subside. All normal activities can be resumed within 3 weeks. Nipple sensation may be diminished for a few weeks. Health insurance will not cover this procedure.
To expose your chest and feel comfortable is a goal that can be yours.
