NINE THINGS NOT TO DO BEFORE COSMETIC SURGERY
- Do not take aspirin two weeks prior to surgery. Aspirin thins the blood and may cause unnecessary bleeding.
- Stop taking vitamin E and other vitamins one week prior to surgery.
- Stop all herbal supplements two weeks prior to your surgery.
- Don't get a haircut. Longer hair is easier for the surgeon to work with.
- Discontinue active vitamin C products and Retin-A and glycolic acid prior to surgery.
- Do not diet prior to surgery. Eat normally.
- Do not color your hair before surgery.
- If possible, no smoking for 10 days prior to surgery. Smoking is associated with delayed healing.
- No alcohol for 24 hours prior to surgery.
