MALE BREAST REDUCTION: GYNECOMASTIA
Enlarged breasts in males occur quite frequently (in 40-60% of the male population). The actual cause is unknown, however, in some individuals it may be related to various drugs or endocrine problems.
This condition of enlarged breasts usually begins during adolescence. For some individuals, the condition can cause self-consciousness and embarrassment.

This one-hour outpatient surgery procedure utilizes local anesthesia and IV sedation. Patients are asleep, breathing on their own and totally unaware of the surgery being performed. At the end of the surgery, a compression binder is applied over the now-flattened breasts and patients are discharged to home to rest for one to two days with limited physical activity. The garment is worn for one week. Bruising and swelling usually disappears within two weeks, after which patients feel comfortable exposing their chests. The results are dramatic and permanent, confidence is restored and patients are no longer embarrassed either by intimate or public exposure of their chests.
